Wiki about Missoula
Wiki has all of the basic information about Missoula but the town itself has a very eclectic feel to it. People love to surf the rapids of the Clark Fork River that runs through downtown, there are a disgusting number of local breweries and when the weather is good people are always finding activities to do out doors. Missoula is fairly tight knit for a bigger Montana city and works hard to keep the "big city" feel out. In the winter the roads can be dangerous and temperatures can drop to -30 with wind chill, it can get even colder elsewhere in the state.
Some hot spots for Missoula:
The U of M - located in the University district (duh) and this area of town has many of the nice, older brick houses.
Caras Park - located downtown and used for music fairs, craft fairs or as a hang out place for just about anyone.
South Hills - residential and the higher up the hill you go, the more expensive the houses are.
North Side - near the dump and the more methed out end of town
The Wye - pronounce like The Y, its a glorified truck stop and titty bar called Fred's.
The Dark Horse - local bar that hosts hard metal bands and tweakers
Rocking Rudy's - 'the original hipster department store' is a great place for picking up old records, crystals to align chakras or other random eclectic items your garou might need.
Hwy 90 South takes you to the rest of the state including the capital of Helena and the bigger cities like Butte and Billings. Butte is a vile pit full of Wyrm infestations of the worst kind. Read up on The Berkley Pit for a little more insight on it. Hwy 90 North takes you in to Spokane and further on to Portland or Seattle if you drive far enough. Hwy 12 heading west past Lolo (seriously pronounced low-low) takes you into some pretty incredible mountains and several hot springs. If you have ever seen A River Runs Through It, these are the hot springs in that movie. Hwy 93 South will also eventually take you to Boise but its a very intense drive with lots of sharp turns through the mountains.
